UNS — The Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta establish a partnership with the Universitas Pertahanan Republik Indonesia (RI). The partnership signatory ceremony was conducted virtually on Thursday (26/8/2021) by the Rector from both universities, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H, M.Hum., as the Rector of UNS and Laksdya TNI Prof. Dr. Ir. Amarulla Octavian, S.T., M.Sc., DESD., as the Rector of Universitas Pertahanan RI.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H, M.Hum., in his remark, states that each university has its own uniqueness to improve its quality. One of the supporting actions to achieve this is through partnership and synergy with various institutions. “Alongside the Universitas Pertahanan RI, we agreed to establish a partnership in education, research, and community service,” Prof. Jamal explained.
Prof. Jamal hopes that through this partnership, both parties can support the implementation of Merdeka Belajar – Kampus Merdeka, student exchange, teaching assistance, joint research, thematic Student Community Service Program (KKN), and national defense. “Hopefully, this partnership can encourage tremendous leap for both institutions. At the same time, strengthening the reputation of both universities,” Prof. Jamal added.
In this occasion, Prof. Jamal also states that UNS and Universitas Pertahanan RI has unique similarity, which is both was established on 11 March. “If UNS is established on 1976, the Universitas Pertahanan RI is established on 2009. Even though the Universitas Pertahanan RI is still new, but it has outstanding achievements,” he added.
Further, Prof. Jamal reveals that currently UNS has 11 faculties and 2 (two) schools, with a total of 67 Bachelor Study Program (Prodi) S1, 42 Master Program, 20 Doctoral Program, 4 (four) professional education, 14 Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS), and 24 study programs in Vocational School of UNS (SV).
Meanwhile, the Rector of Universitas Pertahanan RI, Laksdya TNI Prof. Dr. Ir. Amarulla Octavian, S.T., M.Sc., DESD., welcome this partnership. He hopes that the partnership can bring beneficial outcomes for both institutions, the nation, and the country.
“I wish for this program to bring and support activities in enhancing institutions’ reputation. The partnership can cover students exchange program, lecturers’ study, and collaborative research,” he concluded. Humas UNS
