UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has sent thousands of students to assist the community during the Covid-19 pandemic through the Student Community Service Program (KKN) July-August Batch. The UNS KKN Groups were dispatched to 127 cities/districts all over Indonesia. From all of the dispatched groups, Group 374 in RT 05/ RW 07 Kedung Lumbu, Pasar Kliwon, Surakarta has a special story.
The team has programs on educating the community on Covid-19, empowering the community, and sharing material on the basics of Javanese pronunciation. Agil, a member of Group 374, stated that the video was shared through the WhatsApp group on Thursday (19/8/2021). Agil added that the team has eight members from different programs in UNS. The members are Andreas from Geography Education, Dinda from Accounting Program, Dikshe Craft Arts Program, Eka from Pharmacy Program, Fani from Physics Program, Imam from Mechanical Engineering Program, Syifa from Chemistry Program, and Agil. “Our field supervisor was Pomo Warih Adi, S.Pd., M.Or., and guidance from Bapak Joko Larsito as the Chief of RT 05/ RW 07 Kedung Lumbu,” Agil said.
Agil explained that the team also held training for the community to be pambiwaran and MC for formal events. This training was managed by Agil. The training had several stages, starting from material delivery on Tuesday (24/8/2021), followed by training and presentation on Friday (27/8/2021). “The formal event pambiwara and MC training targeted the adolescence and Karang Taruna RT 05/ RW 07 Kedung Lumbu members,” Agil explained.
In the official release received by uns.ac.id on Friday (27/8/2021), Agil stated that the team also provided MSME digitalization video to the community under the supervision of Dinda. The video was uploaded to the video-sharing platform before it is shared through the WhatsApp group. Following the video-sharing program on Friday, 20 August 2021, the team implemented their next program, producing pots and piggybanks with the children as an empowerment effort for the community. Under strict health protocol, the team also conducted a mural painting program with teens and children in RT 05/ RW 07 Kedung Lumbu. This program was supervised by Dikshe and is scheduled to be completed on Tuesday, 31 August 2021.
The program implemented by the group is socializing the healthy and clean lifestyle (PHBS) on Sunday, 22 August 2021. Three materials were delivered in the socialization: PHBS, making disinfectants and planting vegetables. The materials were delivered by Andreas, Eka, and Fani. “This socialization was held in RT 05/ RW 07 Kedung Lumbu Hall,” he stated. Humas UNS
