KKN UNS Team Discussed Local Potential Development with Kebumen District Government

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held monitoring to several target regions of the Student Community Service Program (KKN) in Kebumen District and conducted a discussion forum between students and the Kebumen District Government. The forum aims to deliver student’s ideas on village development based on the potentials in their respective village. This event was held on Saturday (28/8/2021) in Elementary School Teacher Education Program (PGSD) Campus in Kebumen.

In the discussion, students can share their experiences and ideas in developing villages in Kabumen District. The discussion was attended by the Chief of KKN Program Management UNS, Prof. Sudibya and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Affairs UNS, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, the field supervisor for Logede Village, Pejagoan, Kebumen. The Chief of Education Office Kebumen, Moh. Amirudin, S.IP., M.M., also attended the discussion.

A member of KKN Group 36, Nisrina proposed an idea to promote the potential of roof tile production in Logede village.

“Roof tile produced in Logede Village has high quality. It has the potential to be introduced to a wider target market. Bokcoy chips production also has potential to be marketed to increase local community’s economy,” Nisrina said.

Kebumen District Government welcomed Nisrina’s idea. The Chief of Education Office Kebumen stated that the idea is a good proposal. He also suggested that further research on the bokchoy chip shelf life could be conducted in the future.

The Chief of UP KKN UNS, Prof. Sudibya, also suggested that the bokcoy chip is promoted at the LPPM UNS expo on October 2021.

Nisrina also said that she got new experiences during her KKN in Logede Village.

“KKN in Logede Village was exciting, Logede Villager’s enthusiasm and synergy in assisting our program were laudable. For about one month, we implement our KKN; hopefully, what we implemented could benefit and bring positive impact for Logede people. Hopefully, the knowledge we shared could move and start changes for better Logede Village,” Nisrina concluded. Humas UNS
