Supporting MSMEs, UNS Community Service Students Organize Digital Platform Socialization in Margomulyo Village Banyuanyar

UNS – Group 3 of the Community Service Learning (KKN) team from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a socialization for the development of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Margomulyo Village, Banyuanyar, Surakarta.

The program entitled “Socialization for MSME Development” was carried out through a direct visit to MSME entrepreneurs in the RW 01 Banyuanyar on Thursday (3/8/2023). The UNS KKN Group 3 team assisted local entrepreneurs by providing guidance using the UKM/UMKM Application Module. This module includes Financial Recording Applications (SME Accounting and Bookkeeping), Branding Applications (GMaps), and Payment Applications (QRIS), which are expected to make a positive contribution to business development.

Sunu Setiawan, the Head of UNS KKN Group 3 expressed his pleasure because through this socialization program, they could contribute to supporting MSMEs in Kampung Margomulyo Banyuanyar.

“Through this socialization program, we aim to introduce digital applications that can help MSME entrepreneurs improve their businesses. From this activity, we hope that the socialization program can have a significant impact on MSME entrepreneurs in Margomulyo Village, Banyuanyar, and open new opportunities for business development,” he explained.

Furthermore, he added that raising awareness among residents about the importance of financial recording has significant implications for building responsible financial management awareness. This recording process helps people recognize inefficient or unnecessary spending patterns, which in turn encourages them to make smarter financial choices. Moreover, financial recording enables individuals to have a clear view of their financial progress over time, aiding in better future planning, and minimizing uncontrolled debt risks.

The introduction of QRIS as a form of digital payment will encourage residents to transact more efficiently, reduce dependence on cash, and strengthen a safe and transparent payment ecosystem. With increased financial transparency, people will be better equipped to avoid recording errors and internal conflicts. Educating the community about the utilization of QRIS and proper money recording can stimulate more stable and inclusive economic growth while reducing financial crime risk through increased awareness of transaction security.

One of the MSME entrepreneurs, Lasiyem, also expressed gratitude for the program. “Thank you, for creating the map. Now if I go to the market, I can say my house is on the map, named Warung Mbah Lasiyem,” she said.
