Rector Awards Satyalancana Karya Satya to 316 UNS Civil Servants

UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum., presented the Satyalancana Karya Satya award to 316 Civil Servants (ASN) who had served for 10, 20, and 30 years. The ceremony took place in-person at the ballroom of the Ki Hadjar Dewantara UNS Tower, Wednesday (16/8/2023).

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, S.H., M.Hum. congratulated and wished success to the 316 UNS Civil Servats, both lecturers and education staff, who have received the honor from the government in the form of the Satyalancana Karya Satya Award.

“Of these 316 civil servants, 29 have received the Satyalancana Karya Satya 30-year award, 108 have received the Satyalancana Karya Satya 20-year award, and 179 have received the Satyalancana Karya Satya 10-year award. Furthermore, on this occasion, the UNS leadership also extends congratulations to 66 UNS retirees who received assistance from the KPRI UNS,” Prof. Jamal explained.

The Satyalancana Karya Satya award is given to civil servants who have shown loyalty, dedication, skill, honesty, and discipline in performing their duties. “I am sure that anyone who receives this award is an outstanding person, someone whose dedication to the country has been proven. Therefore, I hope that this award can inspire a sense of compassion, empathy, collaboration, and mutual support, becoming a momentum for sacrifice in the advancement of UNS, the nation, and the country,” he added.

Prof. Jamal hopes that this government award will foster pride, exemplary behavior, honesty, fighting spirit, motivation, and improved service performance for the sake of community service. “We hope that the award, now proudly worn by you, will always remind you that you have received a mandate to be a good servant to the community,” Prof. Jamal said.

Regarding the UNS retiree present at the event, Prof. Jamal noted that retirement is often interpreted as being old, unproductive, or a time to rest to enjoy one’s old age. However, according to Prof. Jamal, retirement isn’t the end of everything, nor is it a frightening period. Retirement is a continuation of life. Many retirees are more productive in their work. This shows that retirement does not necessarily limit the productive activities that have been pursued. In fact, retirement can be utilized to engage in beneficial activities for society and the social environment.

“Loyalty is what still unites us at this beloved university. I feel that this expression is very appropriate for me to convey to these 66 senior figures at UNS. Because your loyalty and dedication have been proven to contribute to the growth and reputation of UNS as it is now. Therefore, KPRI UNS is very appropriate in providing assistance to the retired UNS personnel, as an expression of gratitude for their role and dedication in enhancing the reputation of UNS and KPRI. I pray that you remain spirited, live long, and are always blessed with happiness and health,” Prof. Jamal said.
