UNS Holds International Workshop: Advancing Entrepreneurship and SME’s Innovation

UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held the International Workshop: Advancing Entrepreneurship and SME’s Innovation at UNS Inn, Saturday (30/9/2023). This event was part of the International Community Partnership Program (PKM-I) “Rojolele Go Global”. It aimed to empower the community by strengthening branding and product diversification to increase Rojolele’s competitiveness in the international market.

The event was attended by the Dean of the Vocational School (SV) UNS, Drs. Santoso Tri Hananto, M.Acc., Ak.; the Vice Dean for Academic, Research and Student Affairs SV UNS, Agus Dwi Priyanto, S.S., M.CALL.; the Vice Dean for Planning, Cooperation, Business, and Information SV UNS, Dr. Eng. Herman Saputro, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.T.; the Head of the D3 Agribusiness Study Program namely Raden Kunto Adi, S.P., M.P.; the Head of the PKM-I Team, Rysca Indreswari, S.Pt., M.Si.; and the Coordinator of the SPME Department in the Science and Technology Program; SV UNS lecturers; the head of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) grant team in Delanggu Village, Damar Arya Fajar Pratama; as well as the farmer group from Delanggu Village; and the community association from Klaten Jabodetabek.

Rysca Indreswari, the head of the PKM-I team, expressed her gratitude and appreciation to the organizers of the international workshop, SV UNS. She also thanked the workshop participants, the Delanggu Village farmer group, and the speakers who contributed to the success of the international workshop.

“I believe that this international workshop can provide valuable knowledge. This international workshop will build an objective and collaborative platform for each Rojolele rice development planning study. I would like to thank the people from Rojolele Delanggu, and I hope this workshop can bring benefits to all of you,” Rysca said.

The international workshop featured several speakers who shared knowledge and engaged in discussion on skills, entrepreneurship attitudes, and behavior development. The speakers included Prof. Wen-Chi Huang, Ph.D. from the Department of Agribusiness Management NPUST Taiwan; Biyp Mukhsen Assegaf from Indonesia Direct; Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Aslina Baharum from the Computing and Information System, School of Engineering and Technology, Sunway University Malaysia; and Dr. Norsamsinar Binti Samsudin from the Faculty of Management and Economics, University Pendidikan Sultan Idris Malaysia.

 “Utilize social media and e-commerce to brand your business. Create a website and product catalog. Maximize marketing by registering on international business websites or participating in international exhibitions,” Biyp Mukhsen Assegaf advised.

Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of expanding networks by joining export-oriented communities to learn and broaden information networks. Humas UNS
