UNS — Student representatives from the Student Cooperative (Kopma) of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won first place at the 2023 National Student Cooperative Jamboree in the K-Impact Short Film competition category. They are Rati, a 2021 student of PGSD undergraduate; Erva Octareny, a 2022 student of economic education; and Muhammad Lutfian, a 2022 student of agrotechnology.
Erva Octareny explained that Jamkopnas, or the National Student Cooperative Jamboree, is an annual event organized by the Board of Student Cooperative Communication Forum Indonesia (Forum Komunikasi Koperasi Mahasiswa Indonesia–FKKMI). In 2023, the Jamkopnas was hosted by Lampung University on 7-9 August 2023.
This event featured six competition categories: I-Debate Challenge, Essay, Modern Business Plan, Kopma Impact Short Film, Quiz Competition, and Shining Youth / Indonesian Student Cooperative Ambassador. During the event, Kopma UNS achieved first place in K-Impact Short Film, reached the top 5 for the best M-Biz Plan, top 5 for the best essay, and top 8 in the I-Debate Challenge.
“In the overall score summary of all competitions, Kopma UNS ranked 5th out of 36 universities and 43 other Kopma teams,” Erva Octareny explained in a press release received by uns.ac.id, Tuesday (17/10/2023).
In the K-Impact Short Film category, Kopma UNS won first place. The video they created was based on the idea that student cooperatives can have a positive impact on members and the community.
“We decided on a concept titled ‘Rising from Adversity Towards a Bright Future’. This short film tells the story of how students’ interest, particularly within Kopma UNS, has been declining. Through real cooperation and entrepreneurship training in the management of goat’s milk, in collaboration with the Koperasi Mitra Usaha Ternak Makmur, Kopma UNS successfully won first place in the Kopma Impact Short Film category,” Erva Octareny added.
Wahyu Tria, a supervisor from the Kopma UNS delegation, added that they were delighted and thrilled to have traveled all the way to Lampung with such a brief preparation and returned home with one trophy. Humas UNS
