UNS — The Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta organized a Safety Drill training on Occupational Safety and Health and Environmental (K3L) at FT UNS. The Safety Drill training was initiated by the Vice Dean of Human Resources, Finance, and Logistics at FT UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Wahyudi Sutopo, S.T., M.Si., along with the K3L Coordinator at FT UNS, Ir. Mujtahid Kaavessina, S.T., M.T, Ph.D. The training involved various K3L supporters, such as fire extinguishers, the Volunteer Corps (KSR UNS), and the Medical Center UNS.
The Vice Dean of Human Resources, Finance, and Logistics at FT UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Wahyudi Sutopo, S.T., M.Si., stated that this activity was intended for FT UNS students from the 2020 and 2021 batches who have not received safety drill training during the Covid-19 pandemic and as one of the requirements for the International Accreditation of Study Programs at FT.
“Students are expected to participate in this training to understand the steps that occur in our work environment,” Prof. Wahyudi explained during his speech at the event on Tuesday (9/1/2024).

The training began with materials and quizzes, both offline and online. The training included the practice of using Portable Fire Extinguishers (APAR), simulation towards the assembly point located in front of Building II FT UNS, firefighting simulation, and victim handling simulation.
The scenario of the training implementation is that when the fire alarm sounds, all students then descend to the assembly point in the courtyard of Building II FT UNS to practice using APAR. The second part of the training involves a fire on the second floor, and then the firefighters extinguish the fire. There is a fire victim, who is then treated by KSR UNS and the Medical Center UNS.
“The Safety Drill K3L training is very beneficial, especially for students from the 2020 and 2021 batches who have not received this training and activity,” he added. HUMAS UNS
