UNS – The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr. M.Si., has awarded the Satyalancana Karya Satya to 213 Civil Servants (PNS) for their dedicated service of 10, 20, and 30 years. In addition, Prof. Hartono presented appreciation awards to 90 retiring PNS from the period of September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2024. The ceremony was held at the Ballroom of Ki Hadjar Dewantara Building, UNS Tower, on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.
In his remarks, Prof. Hartono congratulated the 213 PNS, including both academic and non-academic staff, for their remarkable achievement in receiving this honor from the government. The Satyalancana Karya Satya medal is a symbol of recognition for their unwavering loyalty and service.
“Out of the 213 civil servants, 38 received the 30-year Satyalancana Karya Satya, 75 received the 20-year medal, and 100 were awarded the 10-year medal. Additionally, we extend our congratulations to the 90 retirees who received tokens of appreciation from KPRI UNS,” Prof. Hartono stated.
The Satyalancana Karya Satya is an honorary medal granted to civil servants who have shown exceptional loyalty, dedication, competence, honesty, and discipline throughout their service. “This award is a testament to invaluable dedication. I hope this recognition inspires the next generation to emulate the hard work, dedication, and integrity demonstrated by all of you,” he added.
Prof. Hartono emphasized that this government award should foster a sense of pride, set a standard for exemplary conduct, and enhance motivation to deliver better public services. “I hope that this medal serves as a constant reminder of your responsibility as dedicated public servants to the community,” Prof. Hartono stated.
Addressing the retirees, Prof. Hartono acknowledged that this moment marks the beginning of a new chapter in their lives. On behalf of the UNS academic community, he wished them health, happiness, and continued connection with the UNS family. He acknowledged their invaluable contributions to UNS’s achievements and expressed his hope that the spirit and values they have imparted will continue to strengthen the university’s foundation for future progress.
“I extend my deepest appreciation to all the award recipients and retirees for their invaluable contributions. May you always be blessed with health and happiness. Thank you for your dedication to UNS, and may the spirit of service you have shown continue to inspire us all in our mission to make UNS an excellent and globally competitive institution,” Prof. Hartono concluded.
Vice-Rector for Resources at UNS, Prof. Dr. E. Muhtar, S.Pd., M.Si., CFrA., in his report that the Satyalancana Karya Satya awards were given based on the fulfillment of specific criteria as per regulations. The recipients of this honor are Indonesian citizens with good moral character and conduct. They have consistently performed their duties with loyalty, competence, honesty, and discipline, and have met the required length of service. During their tenure, they have never taken leave outside the state’s responsibility nor received any moderate or severe disciplinary sanctions as stipulated by the prevailing laws and regulations.
