UNS – At the beginning of 2025, the Faculty of Medicine (FK) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta celebrated the graduation of 27 new specialist doctors through its Specialist Doctor Education Program (PPDS). The graduation ceremony for the January 2025 period was held on Thursday (16/1/2025) at the FK UNS Auditorium and streamed live on the FK UNS YouTube channel.
Dr. Eti Poncorini Pamungkasari, dr., M.Pd., Vice Dean for Academic and Research Affairs at FK UNS, reported that the January 2025 PPDS graduates consist of 27 participants from nine study programs. These programs are Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Neurology, Radiology, Pediatrics, Clinical Pathology, Psychiatry, and Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.
“With the January 2025 PPDS graduates, FK UNS has, since its establishment in 1976, produced 1.987 specialist doctors who have served across the nation in various institutions, including healthcare services, education, research, as well as in government, private sectors, and the military or police,” Dr. Eti said.
The graduate with the highest GPA in this period was Ardisa Permata Putri, dr., Sp.N., from the Neurology study program, achieving a GPA of 3,88. Meanwhile, the youngest graduate was Enrico Jonathan Hartono, dr., Sp.An-Ti., from the Anesthesiology and Intensive Therapy study program. Born in Madiun on May 29, 1996, Enrico graduated at 28 years and 7 months old.
During this graduation period, there were also six participants earning the Cum Laude distinction. They are Ardisa Permata Putri, dr., Sp.N.; Sheila Savitri, Sp.P.K.; Martha Oktavia Dewi Savitri, Sp.N.; Ageng Sunjoyo, Sp.Rad.; Hani Natalie, Sp.Rad.; and Rizal Nur Rohman, Sp.N.


Messages for Alumni
In his remarks, FK UNS Dean Prof. Dr. Reviono, dr., Sp.P(K)., shared three guiding principles for the new specialist doctors as they begin their professional careers.
“After graduating from FK UNS, I have three key messages for you. First is integrity; you must uphold integrity as a specialist doctor. Honesty will attract people to work with you. Second is professionalism; you have been trained with essential components like competency tests, adequate preparation, and a sense of responsibility. Lastly, expand your network; whether with fellow professionals, alumni, or across interprofessional disciplines,” Prof. Reviono said.
The Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni at UNS, Prof. Ir. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., congratulated the new specialists for completing their studies. He encouraged them to apply their knowledge to serve society.
“Your graduation is a testament to years of hard work, smart work, and sincere dedication. It marks a new milestone in your journey as you step into the community. I urge you to use your knowledge to help others and contribute to society,” Prof. Dody said.
Representing the graduates, Enrico Jonathan Hartono, dr., Sp.An-Ti., expressed pride in being a student at FK UNS and gratitude to the faculty for their guidance throughout his studies. “We sincerely thank the faculty for their support and facilities during our time at FK UNS. We are grateful for the time, effort, knowledge, opportunities, patience, and care you’ve given us at every phase of our education. We hope to apply, develop, and make the knowledge we’ve gained beneficial,” dr. Enrico said.
