UNS – The Faculty of Engineering (FT) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) has signed a cooperation agreement with PT. CNC Controller Indonesia. This cooperation agreement focuses on the research and development of a micro CNC Friction Stir Welding machine.

Enhancing Research and Innovation in Engineering

Prof. Dr. Ir. Wahyudi Sutopo, S.T., M.Si., the Dean of FT UNS, and Dr. Farkhan, S.T., M.T., Director of PT. CNC Controller Indonesia, signed the cooperation agreement. Key academic figures, including Prof. Dr. Ir. Eko Surojo, S.T., M.T., Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, and Prof. Dr. Ir. Triyono, S.T., M.T., Head of the Doctoral Program in Mechanical Engineering, attended the event on January 24, 2025. The event took place in the Executive Meeting Room of the Ir. RPM. Kasifudin Building at FT UNS.

In his remarks, Prof. Wahyudi expressed his gratitude and appreciation to PT. CNC Controller Indonesia for continuing its collaboration with FT UNS. Meanwhile, Dr. Farkhan, Director of PT. CNC Controller Indonesia, emphasized the company’s goal of expanding corporate partnerships through training programs.

“From a business perspective, we hope to broaden our network by providing FSW training to institutions and corporations,” Dr. Farkhan stated, as quoted from ft.uns.ac.id on Monday (3/2/2025).

Bridging Academia and Industry for a Sustainable Future

The cooperation agreement between FT UNS and PT. CNC Controller Indonesia is aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These include SDG 4: Quality Education. It roles as the collaboration enhances education quality by providing students with hands-on industrial experience and strengthening their skills. It also fosters stronger connections between academia and industry.

Additionally, the partnership supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure. Such cooperation benefits both students and the industry by creating a more innovative and sustainable ecosystem.

Through this agreement, FT UNS and PT. CNC Controller Indonesia aims to build stronger relationships between educational institutions and the industrial sector. The initiative also includes industrial internships and recruitment programs for FT UNS alumni, ensuring long-term benefits for all stakeholders.
