UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) officially inaugurated 616 new graduate students for the Master’s and Doctoral programs. This inauguration was for the second period of the 2024/2025 academic year. The event took place at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium on Monday (17/2/2025). In addition to the inauguration, the university introduced new students to campus life. This initiative aimed to prepare them for their academic journey.
Overview of the Graduate Student Inauguration
The Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Research at UNS, Prof. Dr. Fitria Rahmawati, S.Si., M.Si., provided details about the newly admitted students. She shared key information regarding their enrollment. They are spread across 45 Master’s programs, 18 Doctoral programs, and 2 Professional programs.
“The total number of new graduate students for this period is 616. They have successfully completed their registration and fulfilled all academic requirements,” Prof. Fitria stated.
Rector’s Message to New Students
During the ceremony, UNS Rector Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., extended a warm welcome to the students. He also expressed his appreciation for their decision to pursue graduate studies at UNS.
“I warmly welcome all 616 new graduate students to the UNS academic community. This marks the beginning of your journey toward academic excellence, research, and knowledge development. We commit to supporting you in your pursuit of intellectual and professional growth,” Prof. Hartono said.
Prof. Hartono emphasized that graduate education goes beyond obtaining academic degrees. It also plays a crucial role in shaping students’ character as intellectuals. He encouraged the new students to cultivate critical thinking, innovation, and responsibility in their academic endeavors.



“This campus offers an environment for exploration, discussion, and self-development. Make full use of the academic facilities to support your studies. Seek guidance from professors to gain valuable insights. Expand your intellectual network to enhance your future career,” he added.
