UNS—Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta officially concluded its Community Service Program (KKN) for the January-February 2025 period. The symbolic closing ceremony took place at the Giriwoyo District Office in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java, on Wednesday (19/2/2025). UNS leadership and representatives from the Wonogiri Regency Government attended the event.
During this period, UNS deployed 1.620 students to various regions across Indonesia. They participated in community service activities for 45 days under different KKN schemes. The student distribution across the four KKN schemes was as follows. There were 260 students in the Java Partnership Scheme and 231 in the Non-Java Partnership Scheme. Meanwhile, 458 students joined the Faculty Partner Scheme, and 670 participated in the Thematic-Regular KKN.
Leadership and Key Attendees
UNS Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Prof. Dody Ariawan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., officially withdrew all KKN students. They returned from their assigned regions. In his speech, he emphasized the significance of KKN as an integral part of the university’s tridharma of higher education. He highlighted that beyond applying academic knowledge, students also gain firsthand experience of social and cultural dynamics within local communities.
“KKN plays a crucial role in developing leadership skills and social awareness among students. Through this program, they apply their knowledge while making meaningful contributions to society. We sincerely appreciate the support of local governments and communities for guiding and welcoming our students,” Prof. Dody stated.



Other notable attendees included the Director of Student Affairs at UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Joko Sutrisno, M.P. Also present were the Head of the KKN and Student Organization Sub-directorate at UNS, Dr. Singgih Hendarto, S.Pd., M.Pd. It also included several Field Supervisors (DPL). Representing the Wonogiri Regency Government, Head of the Wonogiri Education and Culture Office, Drs. Sriyanto, M.M., attended the event. The Giriwoyo District Head, Sri Sundoro, S.Sos., M.Si., was also present. Sub-district heads from other KKN locations in Wonogiri Regency attended as well.
Nationwide Impact and Future Commitment
UNS deployed KKN students across seven provinces, covering both Java and non-Java regions. The primary locations on Java Island included Central Java and East Java. Meanwhile, outside Java, the program extended to several regions. These included Bali, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Maluku, and Southeast Sulawesi (Sultra). This widespread distribution underscores UNS’s commitment to community development through service-oriented initiatives. By directly engaging with local communities, students gain valuable experiences and insights.
With the successful completion of the January-February 2025 KKN program, UNS remains committed to enhancing its community service programs. The university will strengthen collaborations with local governments and partners to ensure a broader and more sustainable impact on society.
