UNS – In the spirit of Ramadan, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta celebrated its 2025 Period 3 Graduation Ceremony. The event took place at the G.P.H Haryo Mataram Auditorium on Saturday (22/3/2025). During the event, UNS Rector, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., encouraged graduates to uphold integrity and ethics. He also reminded them to stay socially aware in their future endeavors.

Wisdom from Ramadan: Values for the Future

“The holy month of Ramadan teaches us patience, sincerity, and empathy. These values must guide you as you enter the workforce and society. I hope UNS alumni will not only excel academically but also demonstrate strong ethics and integrity,” Prof. Hartono stated.

He also reminded graduates of their role as agents of change. “The world presents complex challenges. You must continuously develop and apply the knowledge you have gained for the nation’s progress. Be innovators, lifelong learners, and contributors to positive change,” he added.

In addition to his message on ethics and integrity, Prof. Hartono emphasized the importance of adaptability in an ever-evolving world. “The rapid advancements in technology and globalization require us to remain open-minded and proactive. Embrace challenges as opportunities to grow and innovate,” he advised.

Recognizing Academic Excellence

Prof. Hartono congratulated all graduates and acknowledged their hard work. “This achievement is not just your own but also the result of your families’, lecturers’, and supporters’ dedication. Keep striving, and make your alma mater and nation proud,” he said.

A total of 388 graduates received degrees, including 102 who graduated with cum laude honors. The ceremony also welcomed five international graduates from Libya and Timor-Leste.

  • Fastest Graduate: Dr. Apri Damai Sagita Krissandi (Indonesian Language Education) – 2 years, 6 months
  • Youngest Graduate: Dr. Desy Setyaningrum (Agricultural Science) – 28 years, 7 months

Master’s Program

  • Fastest Graduate: Aulia Putri Nugraheni (Public Health) – 1 year, 4 months
  • Youngest Graduate: Vera Waty Simanjuntak (Law) – 23 years, 3 months

Bachelor’s Program

  • Fastest Graduate: Rita Suryandari (Physical Education) – 3 years, 4 months
  • Youngest Graduate: Sandi Permana Putra (Medicine) – 20 years, 3 months

Applied Bachelor’s (Diploma IV) Program

  • Fastest Graduate: Gilang Adjie Saputra (Occupational Safety and Health) – 3 years, 11 months
  • Youngest Graduate: Nurul Asmaaul Husna (Occupational Safety and Health) – 21 years, 9 months

Diploma III Program

  • Fastest Graduate: Faza Tasnia (Tourism) – 2 years, 11 months
  • Youngest Graduate: Deva Kevin Saputra (Business Management) – 21 years

A Call to Make an Impact

Representing the graduates, Dr. Didik Prasetyanto (Doctoral Program in Economics) encouraged fellow alumni to be a force for good. “Let us commit to serving others and making a positive impact on our communities,” he urged.

Ir. Gunawan Sulistyo, M.M., CWM., handed over alumni cards symbolically during the ceremony. He serves as the Vice Chairman of the Central Board of the UNS Alumni Association (IKA UNS) and Director of PT. Pegadaian.

As part of the event, UNS also reaffirmed its commitment to fostering lifelong connections with its alumni. The university aims to support graduates through networking opportunities, professional development programs, and community engagement initiatives.

The graduation ceremony ended with a sense of pride and optimism. Graduates stepped into a new chapter of their lives. They were ready to contribute to society and uphold the values they learned at UNS.
