UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta presented awards to 18 outstanding alumni as part of the university’s 50th Anniversary celebration in 2026. The awards were presented directly by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Hartono, dr., M.Si., at the G.P.H. Haryo Mataram Auditorium on Friday evening (May 8, 2026), alongside the launch of the Sebelas Maret Endowment Fund. The event was also attended by the Chair of the Board of Trustees (MWA), the Academic Senate, the Board of Professors, Vice Rectors, Faculty Leaders, and the Chairperson of the UNS Alumni Association (IKA UNS).
In his remarks, Prof. Hartono emphasized the important role of alumni as strategic partners in supporting institutional development while also contributing meaningfully to society, the nation, and the state.
UNS recognizes that the various achievements and progress made over the past five decades would not have been possible without the active involvement of its alumni across diverse sectors. The strong network established through IKA UNS, both at the university and faculty levels, across Indonesia and abroad, has become a vital force in strengthening UNS’s position as a State University with Legal Entity Status (PTNBH).
As a form of appreciation for their dedication and contributions, UNS presented the 2026 Outstanding Alumni Awards to 18 alumni who have demonstrated significant contributions to community service, national development, and the advancement of Indonesia in various fields.
“The achievements of UNS and its current strategic role are strongly influenced by the contributions of alumni who continue to actively support the university’s development and provide broad benefits to society,” said Prof. Hartono.
The 50th Anniversary celebration is expected to become an important milestone for the entire academic community and the extended UNS family to strengthen synergy and accelerate institutional progress toward the university’s long-term aspirations.
“What we have achieved over the past five decades should become a strong foundation for accelerating future accomplishments. UNS should not only become a source of pride for the people of Solo Raya, but also for Indonesia as a whole, soaring high while remaining grounded and beneficial to society,” he concluded.
