UNS Opens Five New Study Programs for the 2026 Independent Admission Selection

UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta has officially introduced five new study programs for its 2026 Independent Admission Selection. The newly established programs include the Undergraduate Program in Japanese Language and Culture, Undergraduate Program in Islamic Economics and Finance, Applied Bachelor Program in Library and Information Science, Applied Bachelor Program in Food Engineering Technology, and Applied Bachelor Program in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence.

In his remarks during the launch of the 2026 UNS Independent Admission Selection, Rector of UNS, Hartono, stated that global changes are evolving at an unprecedented pace. “As part of our efforts to respond to these challenges, UNS is opening several new study programs that prospective students may choose through the 2026 Independent Admission Selection,” Prof. Hartono explained on Monday (11/5/2026).

In addition to the newly introduced programs under the Independent Admission pathway, UNS is also strengthening its international competitiveness through the opening of three new International Class programs: Undergraduate Programs in Medicine, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. The establishment of these international classes reflects UNS’s commitment to delivering globally oriented higher education, expanding international academic networks, and preparing graduates who are capable of competing and contributing on the global stage.

Through adaptive and collaborative curricula that are aligned with advancements in science, technology, and the evolving demands of global industries, UNS remains optimistic in producing outstanding human resources equipped to face future challenges.

On the same occasion, UNS invited Indonesia’s young generation, those who are intelligent, creative, innovative, adaptive, and highly motivated to excel to join and grow together with the university through the 2026 Independent Admission pathway. Currently, UNS offers 102 study programs for its regular classes, consisting of 11 Diploma Programs, 14 Applied Bachelor Programs, and 77 Undergraduate Programs. Meanwhile, the university now offers six programs under its International Class scheme, namely Management, Accounting, Development Economics, Medicine, Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering. The presence of these diverse programs demonstrates UNS’s commitment to providing high-quality and comprehensive higher education options that respond to the rapid development of science and the evolving needs of both national and global industries.

The 2026 UNS Independent Admission Selection officially opened on 11 May 2026 at 3:00 PM Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
