UNS – Bengawan Student Formula Team is ready to compete at 2019 Student Formula Japan conducted in Japan on August 27 to 31. The team leader, Ardan Prasetyo Nugroho, said that the event was an international competition for student to formulate, design, and produce formula racing car.
“In the competition, Bengawan Student Formula Team will compete by bringing out their designed car named Yudhistira. It means firm in dealing with any challenge and obstacle. Hopefully, by this name, our racing car can face all the barriers and problems during the competition and bring home victory,” explained Ardhan in the middle of the inauguration of Yudhistira Racing Car located at the yard of dr. Prakosa building.
In this event, Bengawan Student Formula Team will compete against around 100 teams coming from various countries. From Indonesia, there will be seven teams participating in. Some of them are UNS, UGM, UI, UNY, and ITS.
In formulating and assambling the car, the team took almost one year for the preparation. It costed almost Rp200 millions. “Expectantly, we can manage the top 20,” he added.
Besides, the UNS Vice-Rector for Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, further explained that UNS strongly supported the team to join this competition.
