UNS — Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho officially inaugurated 8.639 new students for the academic year 2019. The inauguration was held on Tuesday (8/13/2019) at the yard infront of dr. Prakosa building. In his speech, Prof. Jamal stated that the students should be ready to be part of Global Citizen.
“I welcome all new students into UNS, the green campus. Recently, UNS Voca Erudita Student Choir successfully achieved various awards from two international competitions in Italia. It is a mark that you as the UNS students should be ready to be part of the Global Citizen,” Prof. Jamal stated in the middle of the New Students Inauguration for the Academic Year 2019/2020.
Moreover, Prof. jamal mentioned that students were the high quality human resources for Indonesia. “The campus considers you as the excellent human resources who are ready to innovate for the betterment of Indonesia. Accordingly, this is your new life where you should not stop learning, writing, and sharing with other people. I think, therefore I am. And let’s maintain our campus’ reputation, a campus which includes the top 1.619th World Class Universities and ranks sixth in national by Webomatrics,” added by Prof. Jamal
UNS received the new students through five ways, which are State University National Entrance Selection (SNMPTN), Joint Entrance Test for State Universities (SBMPTN), Interest and Talent-based Selection (PMDK), and self-selections held by UNS Comittee (SM UNS and UTM UNS).
