UNS — The English Language and Literature Program Faculty of Cultural Studies (FIB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta obtained level A accreditation from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT), Tuesday (3/11/2020). This accreditation result was announced through BAN-PT Decision Letter (SK) Number 6723/SK/BAN-PT/Akred/S/X/2020 concerning the Accreditation for the Undergraduate Program in English Language and Literature Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta signed directly by BAN-PT Director of Executive Board, T. Basaruddin.
In the accreditation process, the Undergraduate Program in English Language and Literature needs to complete several documents asked by BAN-PT assessors, Prof. Burhanudin Arafah from Universitas Hasanudin (Unhas) Makassar and Dr. Adi Sutrisno from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta. The Head of English Language and Literature Program, Dr. Fitria Akhmerti Primasita stated that preparation has been conducted from 2018 because the accreditation was planned in 2019. However, the submission was delayed and executed in 2020.
“During the accreditation process, there was assistance from the Institute of Educational Quality Assurance and Development (LPPMP) UNS through External Quality Assurance System (SPME). We got two internal assessors and at the faculty level from Quality Assurance Unit (UPM) and faculty SPME,” Dr. Fitria explained.
Dr. Fitria mentioned that there are assessment indicators during the accreditation process. These indicators are vision and missions, objectives, and strategies to achieve objectives, governance, leadership, management, quality assurance, students and alumni, Human Resources, curriculum, learning system and academic environment, funding, facilities and infrastructure, information system, research, service/community service, and collaboration.
With this proud achievement, Dr. Fitria is grateful for the accreditation result. She hopes that this Level A accreditation can spur the passion and commitment of faculty members and academic staff in English Language and Literature Program in improving the quality of the learning process.
