UNS — C2 Group Students Community Service Program (KKN) Thematic Humanities Faculty of Medical Science (FK) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta with members Fadhila Nur Illahi, Farrah Ardia Ramadhani, Daiva Odelia, Febriola Hotmaida Sagala, Dalilah Salsabila Salma, Az Zachra Sanati Khodijah, Aulia Safety Imron, Felita Hanin Firstari, Frisca Fadhilah Octaviany, and Daniswara Yusuf Hartanto, socialized and distributed safely from Covid-19 kit to street vendors.
Fadhila, as team leader explained that this program aims to invite the street vendors to implement helath protocols. “Especially when they need to find living terutama saat mereka harus memenuhi kewajiban mencari nafkah dan memberikan informasi kepada mereka untuk tetap berpikir positif agar tetap sehat dan bebas dari virus Covid-19,” terang Fadhila.
The program was supervised by dr. Nanang Wiyono, M.Kes., and was implemented on Monday (16/08/2021) for two hours, and it has been prepared since Monday (2/8/2021). Fadhila stated that the program is relatively easy to implement because they had a preliminary survey before the implementation. Thus, when they reached the place, they could find the street vendors directly and educate them about Covid-19.
“The education media is a poster to prevent stress that we have prepared before. As a token of appreciation for listening to the education program, we gave one package of safe from Covid-19 kit and the education poster that they could re-read again,” Fadhila explained.
Each package of safe from Covid-19 kit distributed consists of hand sanitizer, three medical masks, biscuits, a box of milk, candies, chocolate, and ginger herbal syrup. The package is distributed to 20 street vendors around Institut Seni Indonesia (ISI) Surakarta and Taman Cerdas Surakarta. While the education poster on stress prevention, symptoms of stress, such as difficulty to fall asleep, low appetite, anxiety, and pounding heart. The poster also contains the steps to avoid stress, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic. The stress prevention efforts promoted by the group is shortened into “BAHAGIA” from Berpikir positif, Atur napas pelan dan panjang, Hidangkan makanan sehat, Aktivitas fisik teratur, gunakan waktu tidur dengan baik, Ikuti protokol kesehatan, dan Alokasi waktu bersama keluarga (Think positively, slow and deep breath, healthy food, regular physical activities, follow health protocols, and allocated time for family).
The street vendors responded positively towards this program because it improves their comprehension of the decreasing number of Covid-19 cases, and the implementation of community activities limitation (PPKM) could be ended soon, so the economy will recover. Fadhila said that she and her nine team members hoped that the information they shared could be implemented so that the street vendors would stay healthy and the positive case could decrease.
