UNS — The Association of Indonesian Agricultural Journals (AJPI) hosted an AJPI Management Workshop on Tuesday-Wednesday (2-3/8/2022) at Madukara Room UNS Inn, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta. This event aims to achieve the AJPI vision as an organization that contributes significantly to the Journal of Indonesian Agriculture’s development as a national and international reputable journal. This event was also attended by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, and the Dean of FP UNS, Prof. Samanhudi.
Dr. Ir. Mujiyo, M.P., the Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Head of International Indexation, said that this workshop aims to prepare and finalize AJPI’s annual work plan. Meanwhile, the Chairman of AJPI, Prof. Kuswanto, added that the participants’ enthusiasm was also very high. This can be seen from the participation of 25 AJPI managers from several universities in Indonesia, such as Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Nusa Cendana, Universitas Mulawarman, Universitas Lampung, and several other universities. “AJPI, as an agricultural journal organization, acts as a medium for communication and assistance among the Indonesian agricultural journal managers. Hopefully, agricultural journals can support each other to improve national accreditation and international indexation. Such as DOAJ, CABI, EBSCO, Proquest, WoS, and Scopus,” explained Prof. Kuswanto.
Additionally, Prof. Samanhudi said that there were 10 (ten) journals in FP UNS accredited nationally and received SINTA 1 to SINTA 5 accreditation. There is also a journal indexed internationally in Scopus, namely SAINS TANAH – Journal of Soil Science and Agroclimatology, while another journal is currently in the process of international indexation in Scopus, namely the Caraka Tani: Journal of Sustainable Agriculture. This achievement also contributed to the number of international indexed journals at UNS.
The AJPI Management workshop was then opened by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho. In his remarks, the Rector of UNS directed and welcomed this international reputation development for journal publication event. “Currently, there are 74 journals at UNS, where 63 journals have been accredited nationally by SINTA and 3 (three) journals have been internationally indexed by Scopus. The three journals are, Faculty of Agriculture with SAINS TANAH -Journal of Soil Science and Agroclimatology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences with Biodiversity Journal of Biological Diversity, and Faculty of Law with BESTUUR journal,” he said.
Prof. Jamal hopes that these journals can contribute to the development and dissemination of research and science, especially in agriculture, and is expected to encourage other journals to participate in international indexation. Humas UNS
