UNS — Dean of the Faculty of Engineering (FT) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta signed a Partnership Agreement (PKS) with Tongmyong University (TU), Korea, in the Senate Conference Room, Ir. RPM Kasifudin Building FT UNS on Thursday (19/05/2022). The agreement was signed by the Dean of FT UNS, Dr. Techn. Ir. Sholihin As ‘ad and Director of Tongmyong University International Office, Mr. Joong-Rak Kweon. This cooperation includes the development and collaboration addressed for students and academic staff, which includes the research, education, seminars, and other related areas that have been approved by both parties during the initial talks since the beginning of 2022.
Also present was the Director of Cooperation, Development, and Internationalization of UNS, Prof. Irwan Trinugroho, and a lecturer from Tongmyong University, Prof. Dae-Sik Je. In addition, also attending the event was the Head of the UNS Mechanical Engineering Study Program, Dr. Eko Surojo, and the Head of Design and Mechanical Computing Laboratory, Dr. Eng. Aditya Rio Prabowo. Dr. Eko Surojo and Dr. Eng. Aditya Rio Prabowo is prepared to be the UNS representative in establishing a specific partnership with the Department of Marine Mobility, Tongmyong University.
The Dean of FT UNS, Dr. Techn. Ir. Sholihin As’ad hopes that the establishment of this cooperation can be the starting point for UNS networking development with East Asian countries that are categorized as high-income countries. “Hopefully, there will be more partnerships established with high-income countries. We hope that the positive impact from this partnership signatory can be beneficial for students and academic staff through various derivative programs that will then be formulated at a later time,” hoped Dr. Techn.
