UNS — The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, invites the students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta to contribute to the national economic recovery. This update was delivered in a Webinar, ‘Strategy and Implementation of Business, Economics, and Education Recovery,’ organized by the Center for Fintech and Banking (UNS Fintech Center), on Tuesday (30/3/2021).
Ganjar Pranowo reveals that the national economic growth in 2020 is decreased to -2.07%, while Central Java sees a worse decrease reaching -2.65%. “In 2018 and 2019, we are optimistic that Central Java will always be higher than the national growth. But suddenly in the first quarter of 2020, we fell drastically reaching a negative point. This, however, I think is recovering slightly on the second and third quarter,” explains Ganjar regarding the National economic condition.
Other than affecting the economic condition, this pandemic also affects the health, social, finance, business, and tourism industry. Therefore, Ganjar explains several strategies to recover the national economy post the Covid-19 pandemic. According to him, strict implementation of health protocol and national vaccination program becomes the main precondition for economic recovery.
Ganjar also delivers an update regarding the number of vaccinations distributed in Central Java. Based on his report, in total, 901,216 people had received their vaccine. The latest update by the Tuesday evening (30/3/2021), 1.1 million people have been vaccinated.
Further, he encourages UNS students to create their vaccine, because of the vaccine distribution rescheduling done by vaccine producers in several countries due to an increase in their national Covid-19 case. Additionally, Ganjar reveals that further economic recovery strategy will include increasing community purchasing power, stabilizing the price of necessities, managing the industrial sector and potential economic sectors, and encouraging investment realization.
Besides the economic strategy, the complementary program has been implemented in Central Java. These programs including necessities subsidy, PKH Social assistance (Bansos), Cash Social assistance, pre-employment program, and Village Fund Cash Social Assistance, with a total budget in 2021 reaching Rp 4,306.89 M. While in the economic sector, total funding of Rp 10,826.59 M is available for the economic recovery program in Central Java.
The government also delivers various training for the community to be familiar with digital platforms to support trading activity. A similar contribution is made by the Bank Indonesia (BI) that design a standard QR code for the payment system. Humas UNS
