FEB UNS Establish a Partnership with Indonesia House of Representative Expert Board

UNS — The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta establish a partnership with the Expert Board for the Republic of Indonesia House of Representative DPR RI. This partnership is marked with the signatory of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday (27/5/2021). The ceremony was conducted face-to-face and virtually through Zoom Cloud Meeting and a Livestream in FEB UNS Youtube Channel.

This MoU signatory between UNS and the Expert Board for the DPRI RI was attended by a number of DPR RI Board of Leader such as Dr. Inosentius Samsul, S.H., M.Hum, Dr. Ir. Indra Iskandar, M.Si, and Rahmad Handoyo, S.Pi., M.M. While from UNS thare are the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho and Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto as the Dean of FEB UNS. The ceremony was followed with a Seminar entitled ‘Initiating the Accountability of Pre-Employment Card During the Pandemic,’ inviting five speakers, namely, Rahmad Handoyo, Prof. Djoko Suhardjanto, Prof. Izza Mafruhah, Prof. Adi Sulistiyono, and Dr. Atmaji M.M.

Serving as the General Secretary of the DPR RI, Indra Iskandar stresses that the DPRI RI Expert Board needs to establish collaboration with the Higher Education institutions to support the function of the institution. This MoU signatory has become a progressive step taken by the Expert Board to improve its output quality to achieve a significant and influential outcome for the creation of a just and prosperous society. The MoU will cover several aspects such as education and training, research, scientific activities, seminar and workshop, data sharing, research and library open access system, the implementation of expert support in the formation of laws, preparation of academic manuscripts, budgeting and monitoring function, an internship program for lecturers and students in the General Secretary Office of the Expert Board of DPR RI, and various others activities agreed by both institutions.

The collaboration is expected to deliver a high-quality and qualified outcome. “This signatory shows that UNS is contributing to the development of the DPR RI Board of Expertise,” Inosentius Samsul stresses as the Head of Expert Board for DPR RI.

A similar commitment was expressed by the Dean of FEB UNS, Prof. Djoko. He states that institutionally FEB UNS is willing to support the roles and functions of the DPR RI Expert Board in monitoring, budgeting, and legislation. For the monitoring function, FEB UNS will support the achievement of institutional accountability through research groups and scientific studies, such as establishing the accountability of pre-employment cards.

“Because this matter is related to budgeting and public sector, thus, it is better if we use the New Public Management, namely the 3E, Efficient, Effective, and Economics,” Prof. Djoko states.

Prof. Djoko also considers that the current accountability had shifted from financial accountability into public accountability, which involves many factors such as social factors. Humas UNS
