UNS — Prof. Zudan Arif Fakrulloh was officially appointed as Secretary of the National Border Management Agency (BNPP) on Wednesday (15/3/2023). Previously, this alumnus of the Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, served as Director General (Dirjen) of Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) for 7 years and 9 months. During his career at Dukcapil, he had collected 31 national level awards and 5 international awards.
In a release on the official website dukcapil.kemendagri.go.id, Principal Researcher of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Siti Zuhro, said that this achievement is a concrete form for Prof. Zudan in carrying out his duties and functions according to his responsibilities. “Throughout his career at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Prof. Zudan made many innovations. He also gave color to the legislative process in Indonesia by being on the drafting team for the Draft Law,” she explained.
Zuhro said that the steps taken by the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Tito Karnavian, by rotating officials within the Ministry of Home Affairs were a good effort to refresh the organization. Moreover, Zudan had served as Director General of Population and Civil Registration for quite a long time. “Minister of Home Affairs Tito also appreciates the hard work that has been done. Including Prof. Zudan who has succeeded in bringing the good image of the Dukcapil Directorate General to be known to the public with positive performance felt by many agencies, both government and private,” she said.
No doubt, Prof. Zudan in carrying out his new duties will encourage BNPP to become increasingly known to the public and all its stakeholders. Moreover, according to Zuhro, Zudan has experience in this field. “The legacy left by Zudan by tidying up the population and civil registration databases in Indonesia. That’s why, Zudan won an international Honorable Mention award from the Future of Government Awards. Future of Governments itself is an international award organized by the AWS Institute, UNDP or the United Nation Development Program, and Apolotical for government figures who have succeeded in carrying out digital transformation in government and public services that have a real and significant positive impact on society,” Zuhro continued.
In addition, Zuhro said, under the leadership of Prof. Zudan, many policies and regulations had been published. The aim was to provide solutions to problems faced by the community in public services in the Dukcapil sector. “And that is implemented in the form of digital service models and strategies.
