UNS – The alumni of the Faculty of Social Science and Political Study (FISIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta organize a social event in FISIP UNS campus, on Saturday (14/3/2020). This activity was carried-out to enliven the 44th UNS Anniversary celebration. This social activity consists of the distribution of gifts for cleaning services and motor vehicle guards on the UNS campus.
Representatives of the alumni from 1976 to 2000 are attending and participating in this event. The agenda for Alumni Sharing is to distribute basic food.
The Vice-Rector of Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Kuncoro Diharjo, who was also attending the event, said that the relationship between UNS campus and alumni must be maintained. Considering the new policy proposed by the Minister of Education and Culture sometime ago regarding ‘Kampus Merdeka’ and ‘Merdeka Belajar’, therefore this opportunity can be the means for information exchange between the campus, which consists of lecturers and students, and the alumni who understand the real-world condition.
“Synergy among the stakeholders and contribution from various parties is needed. The role of alumni to share their experience in the working world can be a reference for the student to enhance their soft skill and competency,” said Prof. Kuncoro.
The FISIP Alumni Meeting in 2020 has three important missions as delivered by the FISIP Vice Dean of Students and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Kristina Setyowati. The three themes are Familiarity, Unity, and Strengthening the Role of Alumni. This was implemented by strengthening silaturahim and a sense of brotherhood among the alumni across the FISIP UNS generation. Therefore, a better relationship can be established, harmonious, and dynamic, as well as to be a means to maintain a friendship in the future.
“The distribution of the package is collected from the donation of FISIP UNS Alumni and was given the label ‘Alumni Sharing (Alumni Berbagi)’,” explains Dr. Kristina.
Kristina added that the package distributed is totaled to 200 packages and is consisted of instant noodles, cooking oil, and many others. Humas UNS/Ratri
