UNS — Three students from the Communication Science Program Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta won another national-level achievement. The three students are Bintang Surya Laksana, Septiyan Nur Rois, and Lala Dila Pradini who collaborate in Elora Team. Under the supervision from Anjang Priliantini, S.I.Kom., M.A, the team won 2nd place in PR Campaign Category in Ajisaka UGM 2020+ Festival held on 9-10 April 2021.
In the PR Campaign Category, Elora Team was asked to solve a problem provided by the managing committee. The presented issue is recovering reputation and tourist’s trust towards leading tourism destinations post Covid-19 pandemic. This team offered ‘Remember This’ idea for Borobudur Temple, Magelang, Central Java to solve the issue. ‘Remember This’ is a campaign that aims to evoke people’s sentimental memories in Borobudur Temple.
“We want to touch the emotional side by recalling memories and rational sides by providing safety through health protocol,” Elora Team Leader Bintang explained.
To uns.ac.id team, Bintang also explained the specific efforts that they offered to revive tourist’s memories about Borobudur Temple. Their efforts include creating a poster of events held in Borobudur Temple, such as Vesak Day Celebration with “Did you remember this? When we are feel peaceful on Vesak day while watching the ritual and the monk pray for Buddha and peaceful world” added on the poster. The team also prepared a video compilation of the events held in Borobudur Temple. The primary target of the ‘Remember This’ project is international tourists, which numbers decreased drastically after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Elora Team achievement is an academic achievement that challenges Bintang to create more works. He stated that it is impossible to explore one’s full potential without challenging oneself. “Therefore, do not afraid to try something new. Take the available opportunity, aim to learn. If you do not win, at least you get experience,” he said. Humas UNS
