UNS – In an effort to help the community affected by COVID-19 pandemics, the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a basic food package sharing. A total of 156 packages of basic food are distributed for the cleaning service, security staff, and faculty staff who work daily in FKIP UNS. This distribution was conducted simultaneously in the FKIP UNS campus area on Monday (27/4/2020).
During his welcoming remarks, the Dean of FKIP UNS, Dr. Mardiyana explains the objective of this activity, which is a form of concern to the community affected by the COVID-19 pandemic especially the cleaning service staff, parking lot guard, and security staff in FKIP UNS.
“Hopefully, the distribution of these basic food packages can help to lighten the burden of cleaning service staff, security staff, and parking lot guard. During this pandemic, they have to keep working every day either in Kentingan, Kleco, Pabelan, Ngoresan, and Kebumen campus,” Dr. Mardiyana explains.
The distribution process involves many parties due to the distance among the campus. “The assistance is distributed yesterday to Pabelan and Kleco campus, there we have a coordinator for the cleaning service staff who helped with the distribution process. Meanwhile, for the main (Kentingan) and Ngoresan campus, the package was given directly in FKIP UNS F Building on the same day,” he added.
The package consists of 90 packages which consist of rice, instant noodle, sugar, and tea, and 66 packages which consist of rice, cooking oil, instant noodle, and bread.
Dr. Mardiyana adds that the distribution mechanism for the packages to the cleaning staff and security staff in the FKIP Kebumen campus is carried-out by asking for help from the Head of PGSD Study Program in Kebumen to get the basic food needed from the donation given.
