UNS – Welcoming the arrival of the holy month of Ramadan, the Forum Bersama (Forbes) Sosial Masyarakat (Sosma) in Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a takjil sharing entitled ‘UNS Fight COVID-19’ on Saturday (25/4/2020) evening.
The takjil sharing event is organized as a form of collaboration among the Sosma section of the Student Executive Board (BEM) from each faculty in UNS together with Lazis UNS.
The takjil was started to distributed at 16.30 until 17.00 WIB. In the implementation, the Forbes Sosma UNS is prioritizing the UNS students who stayed in their studio apartment during the Ramadan in the midst of KLB COVID-19 in Surakarta.
“This is a collaboration between Sosma BEM in UNS with Lazis UNS to share takjil. This will be conducted regularly and in a day there will be 200 takjil provided,” said the President of BEM UNS, Muhammad Zainal Arifin, when met during the distribution of free takjil at UNS front gate.
To uns.ac.id, Arifin mentioned that on their first day of the free takjil distribution, prior to the event, UNS students are requested to fill an online form to compile the data on takjil recipient.
“For a more effective data collection for the takjil distribution,” he added.
He also adds that the UNS students who helped as a volunteer for the program are not BEM UNS administrator only, but also UNS students who are not involved in BEM.
Taking advantage of the poster and broadcast messages through instant messaging platforms WhatsApp, Forbes Sosma in UNS aims to reach 200 students who remained in their studio apartment as the recipient of the free takjil.
Through this free takjil, Forbes Sosma in UNS is delivering a real step in reducing plastic waste during the distribution of the takjil by requesting the recipients to bring their own tumbler.
When asked separately, the Deputy of Sosma BEM in the School of Vocation (SV) UNS, Lativa, mentioned that Forbes Sosma in UNS requests the students who are receiving the takjil to bring their own tumbler to support ‘Green Campus’ program.
“Because in UNS there is a Green Campus program, thus it can reduce plastic waste,” Lariva explains. Humas UNS/Yefta.
