FMIPA UNS Students Conduct Socialization on the Danger of Covid-19

UNS – Students of Chemistry Program Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta conducted socialization on the dangers of Covid-19 to the community of Covid-19 Batch II Community Service Program, in Kepuh Village, Nguter Sub-District, Sukoharjo supervised by Dr. Dwiningtyas Padmaningrum.

Ratih Kusuma Murti stated that the Covid-19 pandemic increasingly disturbs the community. Some areas in Indonesia has entered the red zone of Covid-19 infection. The national and local government have implemented efforts to prevent the spread of the disease. Educating the community concerning Covid-19 is one of the efforts that can be done, according to Ratih, Tuesday (14/7/2020).

In the program run from 25 May to 30 June 2020, Ratih conducted various activities, including the online socialization concerning Covid-19 prevention through WhatsApp group. this socialization aims to introduce the community to the dangers of Covid-19. This virus is very dangerous for human. Thus, UNS through KKN program described the definition of Covid-19, its transmission, symptoms, prevention, new normal lifestyle, and providing information on producing face mask. Besides socialization, Ratih also shared posted and stickers that contain information concerning Covid-19.

“Socialization was conducted online to minimize direct contact between people. Through this socialization, people can learn how to avoid Covid-19. Besides the socialization, I also conducted several other activities such as producing face mask, washbasins, and others. Videos of activities can be accessed on the Ratih Kusuma Murti YouTube channel,” she concluded. Humas UNS
