UNS – Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta develops collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif – Kemenparekraf) RI. This collaboration aims to support the optimization of policy and development of tourism and economic creative in Indonesia. In the MoU signing session, Tuesday (14/7/2020) through Zoom Cloud Meeting, the MoU is signed directly by the Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan and Acting Deputy for Resources and Institutions Kemenparekraf RI, Dr. Frans Teguh witnessed by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho.
In his remark, Prof. Sajidan conveyed his gratitude and happiness because UNS becomes a partner for Kemenparekraf RI in the effort of developing tourism and creative economy. Prof. Sajidan also stated that one of the collaborations between UNS and Kemenparekraf RI include three points in the Higher Education Tri Dharma.
“This Memorandum of Understanding aims to develop tourism and creative economy through the various field and certainly to fulfil the requirement of Higher Education Tri Dharma viz education, research, and community service,” Prof. Sajidan conveyed.
The fields regulated in the MoU are, including, formulating and implementing policy in tourism and creative economy, facility and support for tourism and economic creative actors, as well as the development and resources empowerment.
On the occasion, Dr. Frans Teguh welcomed UNS kindness that received the collaboration offers from Kemenparekraf RI. He stated that collaboration with UNS will provide significant impact, especially the tourism and creative economy actors. In the industry 4.0 revolution, Dr. Frans Teguh stated that tourism and creative economy has a large opportunity in boosting the Indonesian economy for the better. Through this collaboration, he hopes that UNS, as an educational institution, provides ideas, innovation, and assistance for the development of tourism and the creative economy. This collaboration will last for three years and Prof. Sajidan and Dr. Frans Teguh hope that this collaboration can be updated. Humas UNS
