UNS — Not only visiting the Herbal Laboratory of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, the entourage of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Resource Development and Culture (Kemenko PMK) of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) together with the National Agency of Drug and Food Control (BPOM), visit the Center for Excellence Javanologi (PUI PT Javanologi) UNS on Friday (9/10/2020). Attending the visit are the special staff of the Menko PMK for Organization and Governance, Prof. Ravik Karsidi, and the Head of BPOM Penny Kusumastuti Lukito.
On this occasion, the entourage was welcomed directly by the Head of Javanologi UNS, Prof. Sahid Teguh Widodo. Prof. Sahid explains that the Javanologi building becomes the storage for empirical information concerning Jamu and other Javanese cultures such as Reog Ponorogo, Serat Centhini, and wayang (shadow puppet). Concerning Serat Centhini, there is an interesting point where the ancient manuscript also covers a subject on Jamu.
“In Serat Centhini, herbal concoctions is consisting of various ingredients of traditional medicines that are made from herbal plants available in Java islands such as ginger, nutmeg, and cloves,” Prof. Sahid explains.
After visiting the Javanologi, the entourage went to Nurul Huda Mosque (NH) UNS for Friday prayer, before visiting the Fortress Campus of Pancasila site to visit the six worship site in UNS. Humas UNS
