UNS— Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta provides a donation for UNS academic members which includes students, academic staff, and the community around who are affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. The donation comes from the lecturer’s and academic staff’s donations which until Saturday (11/4/2020) reached Rp. 965,959,220.
The rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho stated that the collected donations are from lecturer and academic staff UNS donors who donate their meal plan, the amount of which is determined sincerely.
“From the academic staffs collected Rp 282,663,220 and from lecturers collected Rp 683,296,000, therefore, the total is Rp 965,959,220. We collected this money in the span of two days,” explained Prof. Jamal, Saturday (11/4/2020).
Prof. Jamal added that UNS will distribute this fund immediately to UNS students who come from outside of Solo (preferably outside Java and abroad) who still stay in the UNS area, the community around UNS, and UNS employees who need donation, and so forth.
For the mechanism, students from outside of Solo who still stay in the UNS area register to the available system. The Vice Dean of Student and Alumni Affair in each faculty then performs a verification. After the application is verified, the Vice-Rector of Students and Alumni Affairs execute the donation by transferring to each student’s bank.
Prof. Jamal emphasized that UNS must be present for students who are still in Solo, UNS also presents in the community around UNS and if there are employees who need aid as the effect of COVID-19 pandemic.
