UNS – As a series of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) 45th Anniversary, a talk show on “Poko’e UNS” (Always UNS) was held by inviting inspirative speakers. Ecca Sekar acted as moderator of the event that invited Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho as the UNS Rector, Prof. Drs. Djoko Suhardjanto, M.Com. (Hons)., Ph.D., Ak., as the Chairman of UNS 45th Anniversary Celebration Committee, Abdul Kohar, UNS alumnus and senior journalist, and Dr. Uswatun Hasanah, S.Pd., M.Pd. who represent her six sisters that all graduated from UNS. The exciting and inspirative Talk show was held on Thursday (11/3/2021).
The first discussion with Prof. Jamal on the Role and UNS Constitution as a Public University with Legal Entity (PTNBH) explained UNS’ journey and history to achieve its PTNBH status. Starting from 2009, UNS received a status as Public University as Public Services Institution (Perguruan Tinggi Negeri Badan Layanan Umum – PTNBLU), which is followed by PTNBH status on 6 October 2020. As the 12th PTNBH in Indonesia, UNS received autonomy in academic and non-academic matters, including opening or closing the study program and managing its finance and human resources.
“In academic matters, we do not need permission from Jakarta to open and close the study program. The study program only needs to apply to the Dean, Dean submits the proposal to the Rector, and the Rector submits the proposal to the UNS Academic Senate. The proposal will be discussed and reviewed in terms of the feasibility study. If it is acceptable, the Academic Senate will recommend opening a new study program. Rector Decree is enough for the process,” Prof. Jamal explained.
UNS’ strategic plan as PTNBH is stated in the eight Key Performance Indicators (IKU). The first IKU is the percentage of Bachelor and Diploma program graduates who successfully get a job. Second, the percentage of Bachelor and Diploma program graduates who spent 20 Semester Credits (SKS) outside their study program or achieve at least national level achievement. Third, the percentage of faculty members who actively participated in QS100 universities based on their discipline. Fourth, the percentage of faculty members who have a doctoral degree and have competencies/professional certification recognized by external parties. Fifth, reaching the number of researches that can be applied in the community. Sixth, reaching the percentage of partnership with partners. Seventh, reaching the percentage of Bachelor and Diploma program implementing case method or team-based project learning method. Lastly, the percentage of Bachelor and Diploma program accredited by an international accreditation body.
The talk show continued with a talk with Prof. Djoko on the UNS 45th Anniversary celebration. In the Talk Show, the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) shared the events to commemorate the UNS anniversary. The event started with six new Professors Inauguration, an Academic Senate Open Session, and a virtual shadow puppet show. The events that are held virtually become a distinct attraction of this year’s celebration. Humas UNS
