UNS – The flag ceremony for commemorating the 44th anniversary of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta is carried out in front of the dr. Prakosa Rectory Building, Tuesday (10/3/2020). This agenda was attended by the university leaders, faculty, university senate members, academic staff, academic support staff, students, and UNS Dharma Wanita.
The Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho as the Inspector for the Flag Ceremony, conveys that in entering its 44th year, UNS has done many things in order to contribute to the development of Science and Technology quality as well as Human Resource (HR) excellence.
“For 44 years, we have worked together tirelessly, together with the previous Rectors, to achieve academic excellence through the development of research and innovation, enhancement of governance toward higher education autonomy, and optimization and improvement in resource quality. I am sure that all of UNS academician will be proud to work for UNS, because of all achievements and reputations, which relentlessly continues to adorn the face of UNS, both offered by the faculty, staff, and students,” explains Prof. Jamal.
On the occasion, Prof. Jamal informs that for this year, UNS will receive a special guest from the “Indonesia Maju” Cabinet. The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, and several Ministers will attend the Anniversary commemoration on Wednesday (11/3/2020) in GPH Haryo Mataram UNS Auditorium. On this occasion, the Minister of Research and Technology, Prof. Bambang Permadi Soemantri Brodjonegoro, S.E., M.U.P., Ph.D., is attending and will deliver a speech.
“As a good host, let’s welcome guests with great hospitality as the hallmark of Solo,” Prof. Jamal advised.
In the flag ceremony, the awards related to the Green Campus competition among the faculties are delivered to the champions. Started with the first champion the Faculty of Engineering (FT), the second place is achieved by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA), and third place champion achieved by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), for the first runner-up is achieved by the Faculty of Social Science and Political Study (FISIP), and the second runner-up the Faculty of Art and Design (FSRD).
Not only delivering the awards to the faculties but also the 2019 UI Green Metric University Ranking Certificate is also delivered to the Rector by the UNS Green Campus Team by the Coordinator of UNS Green Campus 2019, Prof. Dr. Okid Parama Astirin. In 2019 UNS is ranked 7th at the national level and ranked 96th among 780 international universities, based on UI Green Metric World University Rankings.
