UNS – As part of the 44th UNS Anniversary, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta takes role in improving the education in Indonesia. UNS organizes events entitled ‘UNS Mengajar’ (UNS Teach) in Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri (Public Senior High School – SMA N) 3 Boyolali, on Tuesday (10/3/2020).
This event was attended by the Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ahmad Yunus, MS. Moreover, other UNS academicians also participate in this event such as Dr. Agr. Sigit Prastowo, M. Zukhrufuz Zaman, Ph.D, Dr. Dwi Prasetyani, Vitri Widyaningsih, Ph.D, Sumardi, M.Si, Dr. Sumardiyomo, Balgis, dr, MSc CM-FM, Sp Ak, AIFM, Dr. Isna Qadrijati, Prof. Ari Probandari, Agus Budiatmanto, M.Si, and Yusuf Ari Mashuri, M.Sc.
The event was opened with a remark from the Headmaster of SMA N 3 Boyolali, Bambang Prihantoro, M.M. Bambang appreciates the ‘UNS Mengajar Indonesia’ program. He wished that this program can motivate the students to continue their education to a higher level. Afterward, the UNS Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Prof. Yunus opened the event and advise the students to learn until the very end. “Be a learner until your very end,” said Prof. Yunus.
Further, Prof. Yunus emphasized to learn continuously. Learning is important. Therefore, the awareness in establishing learning enthusiasm needs to be encouraged, thus it can achieve a good output. “We must always continue to learn,” Prof. Yunus added.
The event is continued with the explanation of Coronavirus. The COVID-19 outbreak or also known as Coronavirus is continuously discussed. Even more, the latest data shows that 19 Indonesians are contracted with COVID-19. Therefore, dissemination and socialization to avoid COVID-19. On this occasion, the material on COVID-19 is delivered by Dr. Isna Qadrijati and Vitri Widyaningsih, Ph.D. The participants of ‘UNS Indonesia Mengajar’, which consist of the students from the 10th and 11th grade SMA N 3 Boyolali look enthusiastic.
Boyolali is well known as milk producers city, SMA N 3 Boyolali also giving out free out milk for UNS academicians and the students attended the event. Each received a bottle of pure milk.
The Headmaster of SMA N 3 Boyolali, when met by uns.ac.id, thank UNS. “I personally and on behalf of the institution is grateful that UNS has carried out its assignment well, sharing knowledge to us in SMA N 3 Boyolali and hopefully this event can be regularly held and including more schools,” said Bambang.
