Rector of UNS Send Out Green Walk Participants for UNS 44th Anniversary

UNS – To commemorate UNS 44th Anniversary, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held a Green Walk, Friday morning (6/3/2020). All academic members of UNS from the rectory, faculties, postgraduate, units, institutes, vocational school, cooperative, and UNS Hospital attended the event.

From Friday morning, the participants gathered in the UNS stadium. Before departing, the participants join the gymnastic activity.

In line with UNS characters, the participants followed ‘Goyang Semar’ gymnastic move led by the Dean of the Faculty of Sport (FKOR), Dr. Sapta Kunta Purnama, M. Pd., accompanied by an instructor and Sports Coaching Education students (Penkepor) FKOR. Dr. Sapta Kunta looked enthusiastic in leading the gymnastics.

On the occasion, the FKOR UNS students also attended to enliven the Goyang Semar gymnast. After the gymnast, the Rector of UNS delivered his speech before dispatching the participants of Green Walk.

“Participants from the Faculty of Cultural Study (FIB), Faculty of Sports (FKOR), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), and Faculty of Law, let me hear your voice!” shouted Prof. Jamal greeting the participants of Green Walk from each faculty.

In front of the participants, Prof. Jamal also invited the academic member of UNS to attend the Senate Meeting of UNS 44th Anniversary. In the Senate Meeting that will be held on Wednesday (11/3/2020), The Minister of Research and Technology (Menristek) who is also the Head of the National Innovation Research Agency (BRIN), Bambang Brodjonegoro, will deliver his scientific speech.

“On the UNS 44th Anniversary Commemoration, UNS will also grant Parasamya Anugraha Dharma Krida Baraya award to the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. K.H. Ma’ruf Amin, for his Distinction in Sharia Economy,” Prof. Jamal added.

After delivering the opening speech, Prof. Jamal sent out the participant of Green Walk. The Green Walk route was the UNS area, starting from the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Social and Political Science (FISIP), and stopped in the finish line set in UNS Lake.

A participant of Green Walk who is a student of FKOR UNS, Florentina Vanda, appreciated the event. For her, sports activities should be held in UNS so that its academic members will adopt a healthy lifestyle in the campus.

“It was good, we walked around UNS, it was early morning, it was leafy and fresh. It is good for health. It can become a means to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Healthy life with exercise. Hopefully (UNS) become more successful, adopting sports and a healthy lifestyle,” she said. Humas UNS/ Yefta
