UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho inaugurated a Sports Centre in the Faculty of Sports (FKOR) on Friday (5/3/2021). The inauguration ceremony was held after the Rector and his team finished their morning cycling event as a routine agenda of the emission-free day started in UNS Kentingan Campus with a finish line in FKOR UNS in Manahan.
On this occasion, the Rector of UNS signed the inscription and inaugurated the FKOR Sports Center’s opening (GOR FKOR). Attending the ceremony was the executive line-up of UNS, such as Vice-Rectors, the Board of Trustees representative, and the Chief of UNS Academic Senate. Prof. Jamal Wiwoho performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony in front of the entrance to the Sports Centre.
In his remark, the Dean of FKOR UNS, Dr. Sapta Kunta Purnama, mentioned his gratefulness for the new image of the youngest faculty established in 2018. “In the past, the alumni might be reluctant to say that this is my campus. But now, all alumni feel proud of FKOR,” he stated in his opening remark.
Prof. Jamal also added that currently, FKOR UNS had been equipped with adequate equipment. “GOR (Sports Centre) has been constructed from 2018, Alhamdulillah it is completed now. Besides GOR, there is complete and good fitness equipment,” Prof. Jamal explained.
Besides building the inauguration, the event also provided a demo on various sport branches such as badminton, tennis, woodball, petanque, and archery.
Prof. Jamal hopes that the Sports Centre will provide support for the learning process. Moreover, the faculty with four study programs have achieved many accomplishments at the national and international levels. Humas UNS
