UNS — The Covid-19 pandemic encourages the members of society to transform their lifestyle towards a digital system. This transformation affects the growing demand for digital payments. Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta undertakes an effort to facilitate this need by strengthening the digital payment ecosystem established within the UNS campus. To strengthen this digital ecosystem, UNS signed a partnership with PT. Fintek Karya Nusantara through its LinkAja products.
The memorandum of understanding signatory ceremony was conducted virtually on Tuesday (18/1/2022) through the Zoom Cloud Meeting application. The MoU was signed directly by the Rector of UNS, Prof. Dr. Jamal Wiwoho, Director of Operations PT. Fintek Karya Nusantara, Widjayanto; and Marketing Director of PT. Fintek Karya Nusantara, Wibawa Prasetyawan.
This memorandum of understanding aims to support the implementation and improvement of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. This memorandum of understanding also intends to develop human resources at UNS. Both parties also agreed to focus on the main goal to synergize and optimize each party’s potential and resources.
The UNS Rector, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, states that today’s digital transformation is not just a trend but a necessity. Digitalization has also proven to disrupt all sectors and ecosystems, such as education, transportation, and finance. UNS responded to this situation by strengthening the campus’s digital ecosystem, including digital payments.
“Digital-based payments are proven capable of speeding up the transaction process, providing convenient and more effective financial services, especially during this pandemic, when almost all activities were done virtually. Thus, we hope that the synergy between UNS and LinkAja can expand the digital ecosystem at UNS,” he said.
Besides strengthening the payment digitization ecosystem, this collaboration also involves research, development, and evaluation activities in digital transaction systems. Several LinkAja’s flagship programs, such as Smart Institute, LinkAja Sharing Knowledge, and Education Corner, are also expected to educate and equip UNS students in the digital transactions field.
Meanwhile, the Director of Operations of PT. Fintek Karya Nusantara, Widjayanto expressed his gratitude for UNS’s trust in his party. He guaranteed that LinkAja would synergize well to strengthen the digital payment ecosystem at UNS.
“Thank you for this opportunity and trust given by UNS to LinkAja to strengthen digital payments at UNS. We believe that LinkAja can become a strategic partner in encouraging digital payment penetration in the UNS campus,” added Widjayanto.
The initial stage of this collaboration will begin with digitizing various payment accesses ecosystem in UNS. LinkAja will facilitate digital payments for student dormitory activities, UNS Inn, UNS Lazis, and UNS modular gas stations (SPBU modular). LinkAja will also assist the establishment of a digital ecosystem through the provision of QRIS for the MSME Center in UNS. Humas UNS
