UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta International Office held the first online Study Abroad info session on Monday (22/2/2021). UNS International Office collaborated with the Indonesia-Britain Education Center (IBEC) in managing the event titled “Study in The University of Sheffield”.
In his remark, the Chief of UNS International Office, Rino Ardhian Nugroho S.Sos., M.T.I., Ph.D. stated that the Study Abroad info session is a routine event held by UNS International Office held for UNS academic members. Each info session is organized by UNS GLAD (Global Ambassador) by collaborating with scholarship institutions, education centers, and foreign university partners. In his remark, Rino Ardhian Nugroho also stated that the event aims to motivate students to continue their study abroad.
“I invited students to step out of their comfort zone and become a part of the global community. UNS has opened the opportunity to collaborate with universities in the United Kingdom,” Rino explained.
Ms. Dalila Tasron (Recruitment Officer South East Asia Office) and Ms. Jessica Bream (the Global Engagement Team at the University of Sheffield UK) were invited as a speaker in the event. Ms. Jessica Bream shared material on studying at the University that explained the Campus Overview, Teaching and Learning Style, Subjects of study, Entry Requirement, Application Process, Accommodation, Fees and Scholarship, dan Covid-19 Update.
The event was participative when the 290 participants attending the event asked their curiosity to the speakers, which Ms Dalila answers. Mika Esti Rahayu from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNS stated that the webinar is beneficial. “This webinar provided international information that needed so far,” Mika explained.
Another participant, Raja Ibrahim from the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Science (FMIPA) UNS, shared that it will be great if similar events can be held more often because it provides large information on the opportunity to study abroad for UNS students. Humas UNS
