UNS – The Alumni Association (Keluarga Alumni-KA) of the Faculty of Social Studies (FISIP) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held an online inauguration for its Board of Management on Saturday (13/6/2020). Drs. W. Pandapotan Rambe, M.Si., was officially inaugurated as the Chair of KA FISIP UNS for the serving period 2020-2024 by the Chairman of the Alumni Association (IKA) UNS, Ir. Budi Harto M.M. The inauguration that was held through Zoom Meeting and live streaming UNS Youtube account is attended by around 90 alumni and UNS academic members. Also present during the inauguration the Dean of FISIP UNS, Prof. Ismi Dwi Astuti Nurhaeni, and the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho.
The inauguration was followed by a webinar on FISIP UNS Alumni Empowerment During COVID-19 Pandemic, presenting speakers and a moderator, who are the alumni of FISIP UNS. The speakers in the webinar led by Metro TV presenter, Rory Asyari, are Drs. Moh. Toha, Member of the House of Representatives Commission VI, Abdul Kohar, S.Sos., from the Media Group Jakarta, Retno Wulandari, M.Si., who currently serve as the General Manager in The Sunan Hotel Solo, Drs.Sudaryanto, M.Si, the Chair of IKA UNS Central Java Region, and Reza Fahmi, S.Sos., from PT Henan Putihrai Asset Management.
In his opening remark, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho appreciates KA FISIP UNS 2020-2024 that has a vision on silaturahmi (friendship) and consolidation between FISIP Alumni and FISIP UNS. “This marks that the alumni and FISIP UNS family are like the two sides of a coin, when opened there is the Alumni and when closed there is the KA FISIP UNS. Then, consolidation is important to combine the management of the whole generation, colonial generation is mixed with the millennial generation, this will bring a great power for FISIP. I am proud because FISIP has an extraordinary tagline, ‘Leading the Future Society’, this has begun to appear, no one shows FISIP UNS with no confidence,” he explains.
The Chairman of IKA UNS, Drs. Budi Harto, M.M., hopes that KA FISIP UNS can assist the alumni to work together with the alma mater. “Alumni also need to establish an organization because we are scholars who have been educated at our alma mater, which has been spread in all fields of devotion. We need to gather, get along well, work together, and exchange ideas for the advancement of the alma mater. Hopefully, our alma mater can produce scholars who can jump into society by bringing solutions to overcome existing problems,” he wished.
The inauguration follows several processions among other Reading of the Decree, Handover of Pataka, and Handover of Documents from the Chair of KA FISIP UNS 2016-2020 to the Chair of KA FISIP UNS 2020-2024.
Drs. W. Pandapotan Rambe, M.Si., or often called Potan, as the Chair of KA FISIP UNS, states that supports from many parties are needed. “We will strive to continue what was previously done, perfecting the one that was good, we wish for support from all parties.
