UNS — The famous author, Ahmad Fuadi discusses his book entitled ‘Rantau 1 Muara’ in the Sebelas Maret Islamic Festival (SIFT) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta on Saturday (26/9/2020) night. This event was held through Zoom Cloud Meeting and was attended by more than 150 people from the various region in Indonesia and was Broadcasted live through the JN UKMI TV YouTube account. On this occasion, Ahmad Fuadi, who is familiarly called as Uda Fuadi, disclose the content of his book entitled ‘Rantau 1 Muara’, which tells the struggle of a figure named Alif. Moreover, he also stressed the importance to foster the love of the book.

“Now you can supply yourself (red: with books), so read a lot. Reading will raise awareness and this is a way of being grateful for the intellectual favors that Allah has given,” Fuadi explains.

Fuadi’s family is also a book lover. His grandfather has a madrasa (Muslim school) and a special room filled with piles of books towering from the floor. From there, Fuadi learns a lot and realize that the world is wide. Further, in his book, which has been adapted to widescreen, the alumnus of George Washington University and Modern Pesantren Gontor, also shares three famous lines from his book trilogy. When someone wants to be successful, there are three famous Arabic lines that can be used as motivation. First is ‘man jadda wa jada’ which is equal to the saying ‘when there is a will there is a way’. Second, ‘man shabara zhafira’ which means ‘those with patience will be lucky”. The last is ‘man saara ala darbi washala‘ which means ‘those who walked in his road will arrive’.

According to Fuadi, when someone wants to be better than the average people, at least they must work harder than others, with a longer time compared to others. After the hard work is done, patience is also needed, thus when the reality does not match expectations, the spirit will not go. Lastly, when someone has decided an objective and continuously striving in the road toward the objective, they will achieve it. Humas UNS
