UNS — The Rector of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho inaugurated three new professors through offline and online ceremony in G.P.H Haryo Mataram Auditorium UNS, Tuesday (3/11/2020). The three professors are Prof. Dr. Budhi Haryanto, MM. Professor in Management Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Suhardi, ST, MT, IPM, ASEAN.Eng Professor in Industrial Engineering and Prof. Dr. Ir. Margaretha Maria Alacoque (MMA) Retno Rosariastuti, M.Si. Professor in Soil Bioremediation Faculty of Agriculture (FP) UNS.
In his remark, Prof. Jamal stated that this is the first professor inauguration ceremony after UNS received the status of University with a Legal Entity (Perguruan Tinggi Badan Hukum – PTN BH). Since 2009, UNS moved from university management based on a unit (pola pengelolaan perguruan tinggi Satuan Kerja – Satker) into higher education with Financial Management for Public Service Agency (Pengelolaan Keuangan Badan Layanan Umum – PK-BLU), then 11 years later on 6 October 2020, UNS entered the new era of university autonomy management through PTN Badan Hukum (Public University with Legal Entity). This journey showed that nothing is lasting in life except change itself.
This also applies for the career journey of Prof. Budhi Haryanto, Prof. Bambang Suhardi and Prof. Retno Rosariastuti. Akal, their thoughts and conscience have moved their energy and potential to change. “As academic members of UNS we can age, but we must stay young (“awet muda”). The ability to change and adapting are the keys to our success in facing the dynamic of life. As academia, we should not avoid change,” Prof. Jamal explained in his remark.
Prof. Jamal hopes that the presence of these new professors will open the roadmap and flexibility in UNS development model as PTN BH. “Hopefully the presence of three new professors will increase the creative ideas and constructive thoughts in UNS Senate,” Prof. Jamal stated.
In the professor inauguration ceremony, Prof. Dr. Budhi Haryanto, MM., the 16th professor in FEB and the 225th professor in UNS delivered an inauguration speech on ‘Consumer Behavioral Model with Product Types as A Moderating Variable (A Study on Traditional Foods)’. While Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Suhardi, ST, MT, IPM, ASEAN.Eng, the 15th professor in FT and 226th professor in UNS delivered an inauguration speech on ‘The Implementation of Ergonomic to Improve the Competitiveness of Small Furniture Industry’. Lastly, Prof. Dr. Ir. Margaretha Maria Alacoque (MMA) Retno Rosariastuti, M.Si. the 30th professor in FP and the 227th professor in UNS delivered an inauguration speech on ‘The Development of Bioremediation Technology for Remediation of Polluted Soils to Support Sustainable Agriculture’.
