UNS – The entourage of Chief of Regional Police (Kepala Kepolisian Daerah – Kapolda) of Central Java (Jawa Tengah – Jateng) led by Inspector General Police (Irjen. Pol.) Ahmad Luthfi visited Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, Tuesday (2/6/2020) afternoon.

In the visit aimed for after Eid silaturahmi, Irjen. Pol. Ahmad Luthfi was accompanied by the Chief of Resort Police of City (Kepala Kepolisian Resor Kota – Kapolresta) Surakarta, Great Commissioner Police (Kombes Pol) Andy Rifai.

Accompanying the entourage was the Chief of Operation Bureau, Directorate of Intelligence and Security, Directorate of Special Criminal, Directorate of General Criminal, the Chief of Legal Affair, Chief of Public Relations, Chief of Propam, and Dansat Central Java Regional Police Mobile Brigade.

Upon their arrival in the Rectorate Building dr. Prakosa UNS, Irjen. Pol. Ahmad Luthfi and entourage were welcomed directly by the Vice-Rector for Partnership and Planning Affairs UNS, Prof. Sajidan.

In his mask, Irjen. Pol. Ahmad Luthfi got his body temperature measured before entering dr. Prakosa Building as an example of health the implementation of health protocol in the ‘New Normal’ era.

Familiarity and warmth were immediately felt when Irjen. Pol. Ahmad Luthfi was received by the UNS Rector, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, in his office. At the moment, Prof. Jamal and Irjen. Pol. Ahmad Luthfi discussed the opportunity of a partnership between UNS and an educational institution and Polda Jateng.

Minal aidin walfaizin. Welcome to UNS campus. During Covid-19 we limit the activities on the campus since 16 March. But we are trying to implement the ‘New Normal’ concept,” stated Prof. Jamal.

On the occasion, Irjen. Pol. Ahmad Luthfi stated that his visit with entourage aimed to establish silaturahmi with the academic members of UNS. Besides that, he did not rule out the possibility of cooperation between UNS and the Central Java Regional Police (Polda).

“We and our entourage establish a silaturahmi (friendly relationship) with UNS and the probability of partnership between the police and university. And, because I and the Rector have known each other for a long time. We used to have wedangan (traditional for having warm beverages and hanging out) together. On this occasion, I also introduce the ranks in Polda Jateng,” Irjen. Pol. Ahmad Luthfi stated.

As Kapolda Jateng, Irjen. Pol. Ahmad Luthfi also stated that he does not rule out the probability of partnership between UNS and Polda Jateng in the academic field by opening an opportunity for police officers to take a study in UNS. Humas UNS/Yefta
