UNS — The selection for public university admission has started. One selection track, National Selection for Public University Admission (SNMPTN), has announced its decision. However, this track is open mainly for Undergraduate Program. What should prospective students for Vocational School (SV) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta do?
The Dean of SV UNS, Drs. Santoso Tri Hananto, M.Acc. Ak., explained that currently, SV UNS has 24 programs in Solo Campus. Two programs are four years degree (D4), and the rest are three years degree (D3), which also affect the admission track. “The D4 program is included in the Institute for Higher Education Admission Examination (LTMPT) and can be accessed through SNMPTN and SBMPTN tracks,” Drs. Santoso explained in Wedangan IKA UNS Seri L on Wednesday (24/3/2021).
However, 22 D3 programs SV UNS are not accommodated in the national institute. The Chief of Technical Implementing Unit (UPT) of New Student Admission (SPMB) UNS, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiwiyono, M.Si., explained that prospective students could register for D3 programs through UNS’ independent selection. This independent selection has five tracks, Independent Selection for Achievement Track (SMJP) through student’s achievement in SMA/MA/SMK/MAK in the last three years in academic and non-academic fields (critical reasoning, interest and talent, and religious fields). Prospective students with good Qur’an recitation are facilitated in this track.
SMJP is currently running until 15 May 2021. Prospective students only need to prepare High School rapport from semester 1 to semester 5, SMK graduates for four years, from semester 1 to semester 7, or acceleration program graduates to report their rapport from semester 1 to semester 4. Prospective students are also required to attach the certificate of accomplishments or Hafizul Quran or Al-Kitab recitation certificate. The result of the SMJP selection will be announced on 15 June 2021.
“This track is for students with achievements. We appreciate students who have accomplished something at the national or international level. Thus, this track is opened earlier (than other tracks),” Prof. Hadi said.
The second independent selection is the written examination track (SMJU). In this track, applicants need to join a written exam held by UNS. Another track is Computer-Based Written Examination (UTBK), in which applicants submit their UTBK score from the UTBK examination held by LTMPT. UNS ranks the scores to select the highest ranks to be admitted as UNS students.
The next track is the collaboration or partnership track for firms or institutions that collaborate with UNS to register their employee for further study in Undergraduate Program. This track requires a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between UNS and the firms or institutions. UNS also provides special admission for the student with disabilities. This track only asks for student rapport to facilitate prospective students with disabilities. Those are the admission tracks for SV UNS. Which track works for you? Humas UNS
