This is Why Ustadz Yusuf Mansur Continues His Study at UNS

UNS — A well-known ustadz in Indonesia, Ustadz Yusuf Mansur, continues his study in the Doctoral Program in Environmental Science, Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta Postgraduate School. Even though he does not resides in Surakarta, Ustadz Yusuf Mansur has his reasons to choose UNS as his new campus for further study.

“I’m taking the Doctoral Program in Environmental Science. Right now study in environmental fiqh is still limited. Meanwhile, the environment will be passed down to the next generations till the end of time,” he reveals when interviewed by uns.ac.id in the mid of trees planting and offroad riding in UNS Special Purpose Forest Areas (KHDTK) Gunung Bromo, Saturday (6/3/2021) noon.

The Head of Daarul Qur’an Pesantren (Islamic Boarding School), Ketapang, Cipondoh, Cikarang, Tangerang ini mengatakan fasilitas riset yang dimiliki Prodi S-3 UNS cocok dengan dirinya. “There is research-based doctoral program, which is suitable for me. Insyaallah, I just enrolled,” he added.

Ustadz Yusuf Mansur who will be supervised by the Vice-Rector for Planning, Partnership, Business, and Information Affairs, Prof. Sajidan, states that his focus on environmental conditions is a form of concern toward the fate of the nation and state.

“This environment must be cared for, right? How to connects our religion to the environment,” he reveals.

Closeness to UNS

Ustadz Yusuf Mansur is not that unfamiliar figure to UNS. This ustadz has been attending activities organized by UNS such as leading a Friday Prayer in Nurul Huda Mosque (NH) UNS, on Friday (19/2/2021).

On the same day, Ustadz Yusuf Mansur was also attending a signatory of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the partnership between UNS and Daarul Qur’an Institute (Idaqu) and College of Informatics and Computer Management (STMIK) Antar Bangsa, in Assembly Hall 2, dr. Prakosa Rectory Building UNS.

Additionally, last 2019, he also became a speaker in UNS annual Halal Bihalal 1 Syawal 1440 H, for academic members, academic support staff, Dharma Wanita Persatuan (t/n: a women organization whose members are the wife of Indonesian civil servant), and Purna Karya UNS in UNS G.
