UNS — Three students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta who were competing at the Generation Planning (GenRe) Grand Final Sukoharjo District succeeded in accomplishing a great achievement on Sunday (11/4/2021). The three students are Rizky Febri Mardhini, a student from the Diploma Program in Applied Communication, Vocational School (SV) UNS, Rizky Ade Firmansyah from Diploma Program in Civil Engineering SV UNS, and Lufy Rindytia from Diploma Program in Applied Communication SV UNS.
In the competition organized by the Population Control, Family Planning, Women Empowerment and Child Protection Office (DPPKBP3A) Sukoharjo District on the 10th floor of the Wijaya Tower, Febri succeeded winning first place in the female category, Rizky Ade wins 2nd place in the male category, and Lufy is determined as the favorite winner.
The GenRe Ambassador Grand Final aims to develop the national character by encouraging the young generation to avoid early marriage, pre-marital sex, and NAPZA. The event was attended by the Head of Sukoharjo District, Etik Suryani and Vice Regent of Sukoharjo, Agus Santosa.
When contacted by uns.ac.id through short message service, Febri recounts her experiences during the selection. “The first stage is the administration selection. We are required to submit several documents such as curriculum vitae, certificate of accomplishment, and other supporting documents. The next stage is the top 45 participants, who will participate in the interview and written exam,” Febri said.
The interview process is divided into two parts. After this stage, the best 30 participants are selected to on the interest and aptitude test. At this stage, the 30 participants are divided into 15 pairs and are required to perform their talent in front of the jury.
After completing the numbers of the test, Febri, alongside Rizky Ade and Lufy, is passed the selection and included in the top 14 or the top 7 pairs that eligible to join the Grand Final stage of GenRe Ambassador Kabupaten Sukoharjo. “Preparing for the Grand Final, we follow training on April 10th. This training takes place in Wijaya Tower with Rory Wardhana as a trainer on the catwalk, good attitude, and sharing session,” Febri explains.
During the Grand Final, Febri succeeded in reaching the top 5 by delivering a speech on the importance of lifeskill to face the unreadiness future. Her speech includes education matters, career, and household conditions. Additionally, she discussed President Sukarno’s speech on the 21st Indonesia Anniversary in 1966. For her excellent speech, Febri is determined as the first winner in the Female category alongside Ajib Rahmat Dwi Murdani, as the first winner in the Male category.
“I am thankful to carry out this mandate as the representative from Sukoharjo in Province Level GenRe Ambassador selection. I’m really touched, for I did not expect to be the winner,” Febri reveals.
Separately, another UNS Student who also participate in the Sukoharjo GenRe Ambassador Selection, Rizky Ade Firmansyah, reveals his mission as the 2nd place winner on Tuesday (13/4/2021). He reveals that he will continue providing advocation and outreach to the community, especially adolescents, regarding the values of courtesy and carrying out the mandate of GenRe, Central Java Province.
“When announced, to be honest, I did not expect (the result). It was already an honor to reach the Grand Final stage. But Jury decided for me as the 2nd place winner. This means I need to work harder for the next one year alongside the other selected Sukoharjo GenRe Ambassador,” he concluded. Humas UNS
