UNS — Three students of Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) succeeded to bring home 3 champion titles in National Scientific Writing Competition (LKTIN) UPI Creative-Educative-Innovative (UPICREV) 2020, organized by BEM UPI in Purwakarta. The students are Eryneta Nurul Hasanah (Javanese Language Education Study Program), Ayuni Diah Melani (Local Literature Study Program), and Abdul Azis (Elementary School Teacher Education-PGSD Surakarta). The three managed to seize the title as 1st champion, Best Paper, and Best Presentation on Sunday (29/11/2020) after initiating an innovation entitled ‘Dasanamane’ as an innovation for the preservation of Javanese vocabulary for the millennial generation.
In an interview with one of the team members, Eryneta, Dasanamane is delivered in the form of an android application with a system similar to a dictionary. The difference is dictionary gives the meaning of a word, while this application provides the synonym of the word in the Javanese language.
“As its name ‘Dasanamane’ meaning ‘synonym’. For instance, the synonym of ‘endah’ users will find many other words which equal to ‘endah’ such as ‘alep’, ‘listya’, ‘peni’, ‘raras’, ‘resmi’, ‘respati’, ‘senen’, and ‘wicitra’,” she explains on Monday (30/11/2020).
Moreover, Eryn reveals that this application also has an introduction material under the menu ‘Kawruh Dasanamane’, which contains brief information regarding dasanama in both Javanese and Indonesian Languages. The idea for this application development started from a preliminary studies survey, which leads them to develop the article draft and application prototype for the first stage of the competition.
“The preparation for the first stage is only 3 (three) days, 1 (one) day for application establishment, 2 (two) days for paper writing. While for the 2nd stage (finalist), we have to prepare a poster and presentation video. We also conducted an application trial with 20 respondents. For this stage, we have 1 (one) week and Alhamdulillah we can finish the assignment on time,” Eryn reveals.
In the competition under the theme of “Optimization of Young Generation Role in Facing the Global Challenges to Achieve the Golden Indonesia in 2045” the UNS team choose technology as their article theme, which led them to the best 15 finalists from the 40 participating team. When asked about their team excellence, Eryn states that their presentation concept has a unique and entertaining concept. Opening their presentation, Eryn sang a Tembang while holding a burning incense with billowing smoke. At the end of the presentation, a pantun and unique jargon was completing the final presentation.
“Our team presented as the last team, thus there must be something different. To reduce the tension. Secondly, juries praise that our presentation was cool. During the 10 minutes question and answer session, we managed to make the juries laugh, maybe because they were entertained. Even one of them considers that my entertainment is good because I was assigned as the team spokesman. Moreover, it is obvious that our team meet the scoring criteria,” Eryn explains. Humas UNS
