UNSThe Directorate of Alumni and Student Entrepreneurship (DAKM) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) partnered with Maxy Academy to hold a social entrepreneurship program. This initiative, called “1 Day Bootcamp: Sociopreneurship Bootcamp,” took place on Wednesday (15/1/2025) and aimed to enhance the entrepreneurial capacity of students and alumni.

Participants received strategic insights, including how to apply the Business Model Canvas (BMC). This innovative tool helps develop business models that prioritize both financial success and positive societal impact.

Promoting Social Impact Entrepreneurship

The program encouraged UNS students and alumni to design sustainable business solutions for social needs. It followed strategic frameworks such as Business Model Generation and Value Proposition Design by Alexander Osterwalder.

Dr. Dwi Prasetyani, S.E., M.Si., Director of DAKM UNS, shared her hopes for the program. She stated, “Through our collaboration with Maxy Academy, participants will gain the skills to innovate and contribute meaningfully to society.”

Essential Activities in Sociopreneurship Training

The program features a variety of activities designed to sharpen participants’ entrepreneurial skills. First was the brainstorming and clustering session. In this session, Participants identified business challenges and opportunities in nine brainstorming rounds. They grouped ideas to determine a clear focus.

Then, it was elevator pitch development and pitching sessions. Participants crafted concise business pitches within a set timeframe. They presented their business ideas clearly and persuasively to peers and mentors. Lastly was case studies and field practices. Participants explored real-world examples, such as café-based social businesses, as inspiration for sustainable ventures.

A Long-Term Commitment for Students and Alumni

A key strength of this program is the ongoing support from DAKM UNS. With its extensive alumni network, participants can expand their connections and receive guidance from experienced mentors.

In the future, UNS plans to establish a student innovation center featuring an entrepreneurial product gallery, collaborative workspaces, and meeting rooms. This initiative reflects UNS and Maxy Academy’s shared vision of fostering innovative, competitive entrepreneurs who make a positive impact on society.
