UNS — Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta held its 45th Anniversary Ceremony on Wednesday (10/3/2021). The offline-online hybrid ceremony was attended by UNS academic members and Dharma Wanita Persatuan UNS. The offline ceremony was held in UNS Inn while online participants participated in the event through a live broadcast on the Universitas Sebelas Maret YouTube channel.
On this occasion, the Rector of UNS, Prof. Jamal Wiwoho, M. Hum., invited UNS academic members to maintain and keep the spirit of 45th years to build the soul, thought, and civilization of the nation.
“We should maintain the spirit from the 45 years ago. The nation and this country give us the mandate to build the spirit, the thought, and the civilization of the nation,” Prof. Jamal stated.
The Rector continued that UNS intellectuals are always concerned, who always empower the disadvantaged people through their programs. Prof. Jamal invited UNS academic members to leave useless activities. “Let’s leave the useless and irrelevant activities. I invited all of us to focuses our energy for the glory of the UNS campus,” he reminded.
The ceremony also reminds UNS academic members that their beloved university is remarkably young. However, the university has successfully included in cluster one and listed as the Best 10 universities in Indonesia with its age. Last year, on 6 October 2020, UNS was also inaugurated as Public University with Legal Entity (PTNBH). In the PTNHBH era, Prof. Jamal reminded that UNS academic members leave behind researches for the sake of fulfilling responsibility.
“In the PTNBH era, our research should leave behind those researches that only fulfill responsibilities. Our research should assist in solving community, nation, and country problems. Our researches should contribute and be concerned (to the current issues),” Prof. Jamal stated.
At the end of his speech, the Rector hopes that God Almighty always protect and assist UNS in achieving its dreams. “Happy Anniversary,” Prof. Jamal concluded. Humas UNS
